Jesse Lingard is set to sign new deals with Manchester United and sportswear giants Adidas after an impressive start to his career for club and country.

Lingard enjoyed an excellent first season in the United set-up under Louis van Gaal last year and has fought his way back into the side under new boss Jose Mourinho in spite of the club’s considerable recruitment drive in the summer.

The young forward’s form has also seen him break into the England team under caretaker manager Gareth Southgate and Lingard even gained a place in the starting XI for both of England’s recent qualifiers against Malta and Slovenia.

Lingard, who also scored a superb winner in last season’s FA Cup final triumph over Crystal Palace at Wembley, has 18 months left on his current deal but United are keen to nail him down to a new four year deal which will double his earnings to £60,000-a-week.

His performances have also prompted Adidas to renegotiate his current sponsorship plan which could now rise to a seven figure sum but is yet to be formally offered to the England international.

The sportswear firm are hoping to tap into his marketing potential as one of the country’s most promising young stars and tie it in alongside their deal with Manchester United.

Although Lingard doesn’t look set to leave Old Trafford any time soon, the club are looking to prevent the winger from going into the last year of his current deal.

Lingard has made 11 appearances for the Red Devils this season scoring in the club’s 2-1 Community Shield victory over Leicester and during their recent 4-1 win over Fenerbahce in the Europa League.
