Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has endured another injury setback and will unfortunately be out until around Christmas.

The England international is in need of surgery on a hairline fracture in his left leg that he suffered during pre-season training. Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger originally hoped that Wilshere would be back around this time, but revealed last week that Wilshere had suffered a further complication.

The Arsenal midfielder, who has not played more than 25 Premier League matches in a season since 2010-11, found little sympathy for his plight.

In fact, 'Jack Wilshere' quickly became a top, and rather harsh, trend on social media, with rival fans mercilessly mocking the Arsenal star.

Some of the best reaction is below:

Poor Jack.
