Chelsea news: Vicente del Bosque tells Antonio Conte to be 'more considerate' with his celebrations
Conte passionately celebrated each of his side’s goals against Manchester United on Sunday and attempted to increase Chelsea celebrations late in the game, despite the 4-0 score line
Former Spain manager Vicente del Bosque has told Antonio Conte to be “more considerate” with his touchline celebrations following the controversy that surrounded Chelsea’s 4-0 victory over Manchester United last weekend.
Conte passionately celebrated each of his side’s goals on Sunday and attempted to whip up Chelsea celebrations among the stands late in the game, despite the 4-0 score line.
Jose Mourinho exchanged words with Conte immediately after the full-time whistle, during which he reportedly told the Blues boss in Italian that he had sought to ‘humiliate’ him.
And Del Bosque has now waded in on the debate to suggest that Mourinho did in fact have every right to feel aggrieved.
Speaking to AS, he said: “It did not seem like a wrong message from Mourinho to Conte.
“Sometimes Conte has to be a little more considerate when he celebrates victories, really.
“I was also hurt when we played against Italy at Euro 2016. I’m not saying don’t express joy, there’s no need to be as dull as me, but express a moderate joy.
“It is not that I am a defender of Mourinho, but he had a point.”
