Chelsea were handed another embarrassing home defeat as the Blues lost 3-0 to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues started well but played into the visitors' hands, with Manuel Pellegrini clearly setting his stall out to hit Chelsea on the counter.
After a frantic start that brought chances at both ends City soon emerged as the more dominant force and were ahead when Sergio Aguero fired home 20 seconds after the Blues had a corner.
Chelsea attacked with renewed vigour at the start of the second half but another lightining break, lead by Kevin De Bruyne and Samir Nasri, brought another Aguero goal, this time a smart finish over Thibaut Coutois.
The contest was already settled when Fernandinho broke from midfield to go through one-on-one, Courtois bringing down the Brazilian to see a red card and a City penalty.
Aguero grabbed his hat-trick from the spot to leave yet more questions over Cherlsea's future.
But who was the star man at Stamford Bridge?

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratingsShow all 22 1 /22Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings CHELSEA: Thibaut Courtois - 6 out of 10 Made a couple of excellent saves in the first-half to keep City at bay, before the Chelsea defence buckled under the relentless strain. Couldn't do much with the tackle for the red card.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Cesar Azpilicueta - 5 out of 10 Wasn't Chelsea's worst defender but that doesn't mean much at all these days. Solid as ever but Nasri got the better of him overall.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Branislav Ivanovic - 4 out of 10 Twice in the opening 10 minutes his lack of pace and positioning was exposed by De Bruyne. An Afternoon to forget.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Gary Cahill - 5 out of 10 Had a couple of highlight worthy moments - the early block and a last-ditch tackle. But dithered and allowed Aguero space for the second and was generally unable to get anywhere close to Aguero.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Baba Rahman - 3 out of 10 He's not a defender. The sooner this is realised the better. All of the City threat came down his side.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings John Obi Mikel - 2 out of 10 Had one job: stop Kevin De Bruyne. Failed to get anywhere close to De Bruyne all afternoon, the Nigerian was run ragged.
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Cesc Fabregas - 4 out of 10 Showed a couple of neat touches in possession but overpowered by Yaya Toure and Fernandinho.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Willian - 4 out of 10 As industrious as ever but a strangely subdued showing from the Brazilian, bar a decent opening 20 minutes.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Pedro - 5 out of 10 Always an industrious worker, the Spaniard still needs to find some end product in Blue. Faded.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Ruben Loftus-Cheek - 6 out of 10 Chelsea's brightest spark but the gap in quality between the 20-year-old and a truly world class operator like De Bruyne is vast.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Diego Costa - 5 out of 10 Started like a man possessed and had the better of Otamendi and Mangala in the opening minutes but as soon as City scored his race appeared ran.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings MANCHESTER CITY: Joe Hart - 6 out of 10 Had very little to do, although his alertness when Costa went through on goal in the early stages saw City avoid a certain goal.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Nicolas Otamendi - 6 out of 10 Awful error in the opening moments, although made up for it with a clearance off the line. Grew in confidence and soon had shut Costa out of the match.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Pablo Zabaleta - 5 out of 10 Pedro never gave him a moment's rest and the City defender may have been lucky to avoid a straight red card - the Chelsea fans were certain he had to go. (Getty)

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Eliaquim Mangala - 7 out of 10 Another decent performance from Mangala to follow up his showing against PSG. Stood up to the physical test of Costa and didn't allow an inch.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Fernandinho - 8 out of 10 Fantastic energuy in the middle of the park that helped set the tone for a strong counter-attacking performance. Great drive to win the penalty for the third.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Yaya Toure - 8 out of 10 Perhas being dropped from the team against PSG has done the often unmotivated giant the world of good. He was strong in possession and in closing down Fabregas.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Jesus Navas - 6 out of 10 Will he ever produce an end product? Has everything one would want in a winger except the ability to make that killer pass.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Kevin De Bruyne - 9 out of 10 What were Chelsea thiking when they sold him. The best player on the park by a wide margin, De Bruyne was head and shoulders above the rest.
2016 Getty Images
Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Sergio Aguero - 8 out of 10 Got the hat-trick and the headlines but his three goals were largely the work of the team around him. He just did what the best do, took his chances when they come.

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Aleksandar Kolarov - 6 out of 10 Was probably expecting a bigger test of his defensive skills than Willian gave him, the Serbian was decent. (2016 Getty Images)

Chelsea vs Manchester City - player ratings Samir Nasri - 8 out of 10 Made a mess of an excellent chance to score but this was the Nasri of old, drifting in off the left to cause all sorts of problems for his opponent. Wonderful pass for Aguero's second.
