Everton will be looking to put an end to their European curse when they face Burnley.

The Toffees have followed up games in the Europa League with domestic losses, losing at home to Crystal Palace three days after beating Wolfsburg and suffering defeat to Manchester United after returning from a trip to Russia to face FC Krasnodar.

And a Burnley side eager to get its first win of the season will look to capitalise on any tiredness from Everton’s trip to Lille on Thursday.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche revealed how Sir Alex Ferguson has been giving him tips in Premier League management, but an expert isn’t needed to pinpoint where Dyche’s team need improving. Burnley have scored just four goals in eight league games; Danny Ings, scorer of 26 last season, hasn’t scored one.

But Sunday’s game presents a good opportunity for Ings to break his duck against an Everton side that has - rather uncharacteristically - leaked 16 goals so far this campaign.
