Bayern eye Chelsea's Boswinga

Bayern Munich have confirmed their interest in signing Chelsea full-back Jose Bosingwa.

The Portugal right-back has only been at Stamford Bridge for one season following a £16m move from FC Porto last summer.

Bosingwa made 48 appearances in all competitions and was a key member of the squad under both Luiz Felipe Scolari and Guus Hiddink.

But Bayern believe they can persuade Chelsea to part company with their first-choice right-back.

"Our transfer activities are basically closed," said general manager Uli Hoeness.

"We are only looking at whether there are possibilities for the right-back position.

"We are interested in Bosingwa. That's correct."

Meanwhile, Bayern have officially completed the signing of Dutch defender Edson Braafheid from FC Twente.

The 26-year-old left-back has signed a four-year contract to become incoming coach Louis van Gaal's seventh signing of the close season.

Braafheid turned down offers from PSV Eindhoven and Ajax to move to the Bundesliga.

However, reports in the Netherlands suggest that Danijel Pranjic's proposed transfer from Heerenveen to Bayern Munich may fall through.

It had been reported that the Croatia international had already signed for the Bavarian giants, but Dutch football magazine Voetbal International claims that the transfer has not yet been finalised.

It is believed that Bayern are unwilling to match Heerenveen's valuation of the 27-year-old winger who has spent the last four seasons with the club.

Elsewhere, Hoffenheim have bolstered their attacking options with the capture of Ghana striker Prince Tagoe.

The 22-year-old forward has put pen to paper on a three-year contract after joining the Bundesliga outfit from Al-Ittifaq in Saudi Arabia.

"Prince Tagoe is just the kind of player we're looking for. He's young, highly talented and can develop to the next stage with us," said sporting director Jan Schindelmeiser.

"He has very good technique, can play off either foot and has a proven nose for goal at both club and international level.

"Prince will integrate and feel at home quickly with the help of the other African players in the squad."

Arminia Bielefeld have swooped to sign midfielder Kasper Risgard from Aalborg.

Risgard, 26, has agreed a three-year contract with the recently relegated Bundesliga outfit after moving to Germany on a free transfer.
