Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj has received death threats from angry Kosovan-Albanian fans over his decision to play for the Belgium national team.

Serbian radio station S Media and Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad report that the youngster has been targeted because he elected to play for the nation in which he was born.

The 19-year-olds parents migrated to Brussels to escape the Kosovo War in the early 1990s.

Januzaj, who played in just one game at the World Cup against South Korea, qualified to represent Serbia, Turkey, Albania, Kosovo and England but chose Belgium.

He made his official debut just a week before the tournament started in a warm-up game against Tunisia.

Those making the threats are reported to have warned Januzaj not to set foot in Kosovo.
