Leroy Sane has left the Germany squad for “private reasons” after discussions with Joachim Low and will not be available to play against Peru on Sunday.

The Manchester City winger came on in the 83rd minute in Germany’s 0-0 draw with France in their opening Uefa Nations League match.

“Following discussions with head coach Joachim Low, Leroy Sane has left the team hotel in Munich for private reasons and will not be available for Germany vs Peru,” Germany confirmed on Twitter.

Earlier this week Toni Kroos questioned Sane’s attitude and suggested he did not care whether Germany won or lost. “Sometimes you have the feeling with Leroy’s body language that it’s all the same if we win or lose,” said the Real Madrid midfielder.

“He’s a player who has everything you need to be a world-class player but sometimes you have to tell him he has to perform better,” he added.

Sane was not included in Germany’s squad for the World Cup and has recently been left out of Manchester City’s match-day squad.

In City’s dominant 2017/18 title winning season Sane made 50 appearances, scored 14 goals and received the PFA Young Player of the Year award.
