Kenny Jackett has emerged as a contender for the vacant manager's position at Wolverhampton Wanderers following the sacking of Dean Saunders. Saturday's 2-0 defeat to Brighton relegated Wolves from the Championship, the second season in a row they have dropped a division.

Jackett today resigned as Millwall manager, saying he wanted a new challenge after almost six seasons in charge. The FA Cup semi-finalists finished in 20th place in the Championship this season, two points clear of the relegation places.

Saunders was dismissed along with his assistant Brian Carey after 10 defeats in 20 games in charge.
