Round-up: Nile Ranger joins Barnsley on loan

Barnsley have completed the loan signing of striker Nile Ranger from Newcastle.

The 20-year-old will stay at Oakwell until January 14 and could go straight into manager Keith Hill's squad for Saturday's clash at Leeds.

The move comes less than a week after Ranger pleased not guilty to assault and drunk and disorderly behaviour charges at Newcastle magistrates court. He was remanded on conditional bail and will re-appear in court on January 13.

When asked what he hoped to get out of his eight-week spell at Oakwell, Ranger told the club's official website, http://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk: "Eight weeks, eight games and eight goals hopefully. If I get games and starts goals will definitely come."

Millwall have completed the loan signing of Aston Villa defender Nathan Baker.

The 20-year-old, an England Under-21 international, has moved to south London on an initial month-long deal.

Baker could make his debut for the Lions in Saturday's derby clash with Crystal Palace.

Cardiff defender Dekel Keinan has joined fellow npower Championship club Crystal Palace on loan until January 2.

The 27-year-old centre-back, who has over 20 caps for Israel, has only featured three times for the Bluebirds this season and is yet to start a league game for Malky Mackay's side.

Keinan moved to the Welsh side in the January transfer window having started his career with Maccabi Haifa before transferring to Blackpool in 2010.

Charlton skipper Johnnie Jackson will be sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury.

The eight-goal winger went for a scan on Monday after suffering the injury against Brentford at the weekend, and the Addicks' worst fears have been realised.

Blackpool defender Miguel Angel Llera has joined Sheffield Wednesday on a two-month emergency loan deal.

The 32-year-old Spaniard, who will stay with the Owls until January 2012, is set to go straight into Wednesday's squad for the npower League One home game with Leyton Orient this weekend.

Tim Flowers has replaced David Lee as caretaker manager at Northampton.

Lee was placed in temporary charge following the departure of Gary Johnson last week.

His only game at the helm proved to be the 7-2 home defeat to Shrewsbury on Saturday - the Cobblers' heaviest loss at Sixfields since 1947.

Goalkeeping coach Flowers has now assumed the position, with Lee leaving the npower League Two club.

Bristol Rovers will be without striker Scott McGleish for at least four weeks.

The 37-year-old striker, who has scored five times for Paul Buckle's side this season, came on in the 2-0 defeat to Barnet on Saturday, only to be substituted 11 minutes later after twisting his ankle.
