Manuel Pellegrini may field a weakend team when Manchester City play Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup, after the television fixtures were announced.

The BBC have confirmed that they will broadcast Chelsea vs Manchester City at 4pm on Sunday, 21 February, despite City travelling to Kiev to play Dinamo on 24 February and then Liverpool in the final of the Capital One Cup final on 28 February.

Chelsea's own Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain comes days before in Paris on 16 February.

Earlier, the Chilean manager had threatened to play his youngsters because of the fixture congestion, arguing that it would be fairer to play the game on Saturday.

However, Fulham are at home that day and the Metropolitan Police do not allow Chelsea and Fulham to play home matches on the same day.

Friday may have been an alternative but the BBC opted to pick Sunday. The broadcaster will also show Everton's trip to Bournemouth on Saturday at 5.15pm.

BBC One will also broadcast the fourth round replay between Peterborough United and West Bromwich Albion at 7.45pm on 10 February.

BT Sport will broadcast Arsenal vs Hull (Saturday, 12.45pm), Blackburn vs West Ham/Liverpool (Sunday, 2pm) and Shrewsbury vs Manchester United (Monday, 7.45pm).

It will be the 50th consecutive time that Manchester United's FA Cup fixture has been broadcast live.
