AC Milan have denied reports they are making moves to sign Brazilian striker Adriano from Flamengo.

Italian media have claimed that Milan sporting director Ariedo Braida has been monitoring the progress of Adriano during his visit to Brazil.

"I am in Brazil but none of this information is true. I did not come to do any business. I always come to Brazil, two or three times a year. This is not a business trip," Braida told Brazilian sports website Lancenet.

"I am watching a few rounds of the championship with friends. I want to see some more before returning to Italy."

Lack of goalscoring has been the Rossoneri's main problem this season, with Leonardo's men having found the net just twice in the last six league games.

Since terminating his contract with Inter Milan in April following a turbulent time at the club, Adriano has rediscovered his goalscoring touch.

The 27-year-old has struck 15 times in 22 league appearances for Flamengo this season.

Adriano's possible return to the San Siro, would not anger Inter Milan, according to club president Massimo Moratti.

"Milan has the freedom to acquire Adriano," he said. "He is no longer our player."

The Brazil international is under contract with Flamengo until May 2010.
