Former Liverpool and Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has proved he can use fireworks.

During his time in England Balotelli hit the headlines on numerous occasions for his antics - but none was more memorable than the fireworks incident. The Italian, now at AC Milan, caused a fire in his own home after letting off a firework in the bathroom, leading to the emergency services having to be called.

The next day, Balotelli, then at City, was playing at the home of their biggest rivals, Manchester United.

In what has easily become the highlight of his stay in the Premier League, Balotelli was instrumental in inflicting a 6-1 defeat on Sir Alex Ferguson's team, their worst beating at Old Trafford since February 1955.

After Balotelli opened the scoring, his first of two goals in the match, he revealed his now infamous, perfect, slogan, printed on a t-shirt.

'Why Always Me?'

On New Year's Eve 2015, Balotelli sought to prove he had learnt since that incident in October 2011, by letting off a few fireworks to ring in the New Year.

Posting a video to Instagram, Balotelli provided a little teaser, saying: "Tonight I will make you a nice video with fireworks. Be careful with fireworks."

He also wished his 3.4million followers a happy New Year - while admitting his own year had been pretty bad.

"I will wish you the best New Year's ever, because this this year been shhh.... you know what."

About six hours later he again took to the site with a new video. This time it was outside and no firemen had to be called.

"Ok as I just said I'm gonna do it and I'm doing it," he said in one of two videos letting off explosives.

"He's doing it.. he's doing it... He's doing it!

"Happy New Year!"
