Jupp Heynckes knows Bayern Munich's work in Champions League is far from finished

Bayern Munich's bid to reach a second Champions League semi-final in three seasons will not be a simple matter, despite their 2-0 win at Marseille last week, according to coach Jupp Heynckes.

"We will play to win as if we have played 1-1 in the first game," he said, ahead of tonight's second leg in Germany. "It is an outstanding starting position but we should be reminded that Marseille beat Borussia Dortmund in the group stage 3-2 after trailing 2-0."

Bayern, four-time winners of Europe's top club prize and chasing a treble of titles this season, are particularly eager to advance as the Champions League final will be held in Munich on 19 May. "We know it will be a hard game," said the Bundesliga's top scorer Mario Gomez, who has 11 goals in Europe this season, one less than Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"In football, many crazy things can happen. We will try to win but it will not be a walk in the park. Just like we scored twice there they can do the same thing here."

Bayern have an impressive record in recent home games, having won 11 of their last 12 Champions League matches at the Allianz Arena.
