It’s that time of year when Thursday nights become fun again – the Europa League is back!

48 teams begin the tournament dreaming of Gdansk glory, with 15 games to negotiate if they want to lift a gleaming trophy in Poland next May.

But which of them are genuine contenders?

Manchester United, Arsenal and Wolves are the Premier League’s representatives, while Celtic and Rangers are leading the Scottish charge in continental competition. Will Sevilla secure another Europa League crown? Hope springs eternal in Rome – is this Lazio or Roma’s year?
