Alexis Sanchez has scored nine goals in last five games in all competitions for club and country, and the Arsenal forward has revealed the secret to his scorching run of form - his mum has told him "to shoot at goal more often".

Sanchez uncharacteristically went nine goals without scoring at the start of the season after his heroics for Chile at the Copa America, but has revealed that a pep talk from his "coach" changed all of that.

"My mum is always my coach," the 26-year-old said. "She phones me and tells me to shoot at goal more often."

The former Barcelona player Sanchez also moved to allay any fears at Arsenal that he would be keen on a return to Spain amid speculation over a switch to Real Madrid.

"I have no idea what the media are saying, but I feel comfortable at Arsenal," he said whilst away on international duty.

"I'm happy with my team-mates and the city of London is beautiful. I'm not going to change, I'm very happy."
