Blackburn Rovers are allowing their highly rated 19-year-old England youth international defender, Marlon Broomes, to join Swindon on a month's loan.

Norwich have signed the Tottenham centre-back Kevin Scott on a month's loan. The 30-year-old defender has just finished a month on loan at Charlton.

The former Leeds and Swansea goalkeeper Glan Letheran has been appointed as team manager of the Welsh women's international team.

The former Arsenal and Portsmouth defender Roy Pack, 50, has been named as a director of AFC Bournemouth.

Guillermo Canedo, head of the organising committees for the 1970 and 1986 World Cups in Mexico and a Fifa vice-president, died yesterday at the age of 76.
