Football: Annoni ready to rock
The Italian defender Enrico Annoni is due for his first taste of Old Firm rivalry when Celtic entertain Rangers tonight to contest a place in the last four of the Tennents Scottish Cup.
Tom Boyd starts a three-match suspension so Annoni, signed from Roma last month, should play. Paul McStay and Peter Grant are in contention for recalls by Celtic but Tommy Burns, their manager, might be tempted to stay loyal to the side who beat Hearts on Saturday. Pierre van Hooijdonk may have to remain on the bench.
Rangers are definitely without Stuart McCall and Sebastian Rozental, who are both out for the rest of the season, while Paul Gascoigne is still absent because of his ankle injury. Derek McInnes is also out.
The Rangers captain, Richard Gough, just two months away from his Ibrox farewell, is struggling with a calf strain and will be given a fitness test today, along with Gordon Durie.
