Two goals by Raul Gonzalez and one each by Pedrag Mijatovic and Clarence Seedorf helped Real Madrid to their first trophy of the season as they beat Barcelona 4-1 in the second leg of the Spanish Supercup final on Saturday. That gave Real a 5-3 aggregate victory following Barcelona's 2-1 win in the first leg last Wednesday.

Before a crowd of only 35,000 in the Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid, both sides appeared nervous in the first half, and there were few chances until two minutes before half-time, when 20-year-old Raul rolled the ball past Barcelona's Dutch keeper, Ruud Hesp. Ten minutes into the second half he repeated the trick, and the Yugoslav striker Mijatovic scored the third in the 60th minute. Seedorf sealed victory six minutes later. Barcelona were in disarray, but managed a consolation goal by Giovanni in the 73rd minute.

In Turin, Filippo Inzaghi marked his home debut for Juventus with two goals as the Italian champions beat Vicenza 3-0 to take the Italian Supercup. Antonio Conte got the third. The Supercup was the club's eighth trophy in the three-season reign of their coach, Marcello Lippi.

The German champions, Bayern Munich, moved up to third place in the Bundesliga yesterday with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Hamburg.

Mario Basler scored the opening goal in the 23rd minute, and provided Alexander Zickler with the pass that led to the second, eight minutes from time.
