Sachin Tendulkar has hailed India’s “fearless cricket” after watching his country pull off a miraculous victory in the fourth Test against Australia to clinch the series 2-1.

Rishabh Pant was the hero after his unbeaten score of 89 saw the tourists home in a gripping finale at the Gabba, which saw India inflict consecutive home series defeats on Australia after emerging with the win in 2018-19.

And the legendary batsman Tendulkar has revealed his pride at watching what was a makeshift side, due to a series of injuries, produce a series of heroes.

“Every session we discovered a new hero,” wrote Tendulkar.

"Every time we got hit, we stayed put and stood taller. We pushed boundaries of belief to play fearless but not careless cricket.

“Injuries and uncertainties were countered with poise and confidence. One of the greatest series wins! Congrats India.”

Pant meanwhile admitted he was living a dream after starring in the win, backing up his score of 97 in the drawn third Test in Sydney.

“This is the biggest thing in life right now. I’m happy for all the team and the fans,” Pant said after the game in Brisbane, which marked Australia’s first defeat at the ground since 1988.

“It’s been a dream series after not playing the first Test match. Management backs me that I’m a match-winner, that’s the only thing I keep thinking, I want to win matches for India and I’m happy for that today.”
