When Emburey dismissed Dean Hodgson in the second innings it was his 1,500th first- class wicket.

Carl Hooper's 121 not out was his fifth Championship hundred of the season as Kent dominated at Canterbury. Somerset added just 20 to their overnight 88 for 1 as Tim Wren took 6 for 48 and Kent ended the day on 293 for 3.
