Boxing: Bingham's bout on air
ENSLEY BINGHAM'S British light-middleweight title fight with Delroy Leslie next month will be televised by the BBC as boxing continues to make a return to terrestrial television.
The BBC will cover the fight on 20 August for broadcast on Grandstand the following day. The programme's editor, Carl Hicks, said: "Boxing on the BBC has had a low profile since Barry McGuigan attracted 18 million viewers for his live world title win over Eusebio Pedroza in 1985. This is a foot back in the water, rather than a toe. I want Grandstand to eventually regain its position in the boxing market."
