Ship owner will pursue pirates to China
Hong Kong - William Tay, the owner of the hijacked freighter Hye Mieko, which is being taken towards Chinese waters, said he would go to China personally to try to rescue his property after Hong Kong failed to offer him assistance. Radio contact with the ship, which is laden with $2m (pounds 1.29m) of cigarettes and photographic equipment and is carrying 14 crew, was lost on Friday night in waters that are notorious for piracy.
