A Mafia boss found dead last week was involved in the 1992 murder of Cosa Nostra's enemy number one, judge Giovanni Falcone, Italian state television channels said yesterday, Reuter reports from Rome.

The reports said Antonino Gioe, who hanged himself with his shoelaces from the bars of his cell on Thursday, was at Palermo airport when Falcone arrived there and he had apparently tipped off the Mafia commando which killed the judge minutes later.
