Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło injured in car crash
She is recovering from 'bruising', local media reports
Polish Prime Minister Beata Szydło is in hospital after sustaining injuries in a car crash, a government spokesman has said.
The accident happened near the southern city of Krakow.
Ms Szydło was described as suffering “bruising” and was taken to hospital for “routine tests”.
Polish media reported that the accident, which happened near her home town of Oswiecim, left a member of the PM’s protection unit with a leg injury.
"PM Szydlo is in hospital for routine checks," spokesman Rafal Bochenek said.
"Fortunately, nothing serious happened to the Prime Minister."
