Nightlife: Mountain high, livers breached

The new bar tipped to become one London's trendiest nightspots is not a sleek, minimalist lounge, but an Austrian ski lodge.

Bodo's Schloss is the latest venue from Nick House and Piers Adam, the men behind some of the capital's most successful nightclubs, and brings a touch of Tyrol to the capital. The venue's Facebook page says it's "not only a restaurant and bar but a lifestyle that is fun and full of joy". And the joy comes, presumably, from comely waitresses in dirndls bringing forth glasses of schnapps.

Prince Harry is tipped to become a regular, as not only are two of his chums Tom Inskip and Thomas van Straubenzee investors, but it is also within yodelling distance of Kensington Palace.

Bodo's is not the only new spot catering for those who wish that they had been brought up in the Sound of Music or Heidi. The nearby Brompton Club is reopening its winter "Grotto", while the Archer Street bar in Soho has opened a club called Piste. With its fur-throws ,the venue says it's going for "a playful chalet feel". Hmm. Piste's fancy-dress box means that visitors can then take their fantasies further by slipping into a pair of Lederhosen.

At this rate, the capital's party animals will soon be out on the piste.
