More than 1,800 workers have been evacuated from Microsoft's headquarters in Germany after a reported bomb threat.

According to local media reports, the alarm was raised at 12.06pm at the offices in Lohhof near Munich, and police were informed.

Officers searched the premises using specially trained bomb sniffer dogs but, after two hours, nothing suspicious was found.

According to the Suddeutsche Zeitung, the all-clear was called and police now believe the threat was a prank call.

Employees at the office have returned to work, the newspaper reported.
