Caning sentence strokes cut
Singapore yesterday upheld a caning sentence passed on an American teenager, Michael Fay, for vandalism but reduced the number of strokes from six to four, saying it valued its good relations with the US, Reuter reports from Singapore. President Ong Teng Cheong was responding to an appeal from Fay for clemency.
