Kobe Bryant witnessed a car crash and stopped to help out.

The former NBA superstar, who was driving a black Range Rover, pulled over after a car allegedly ran a red light and crashed into a Tesla in Newport Beach, California.

Bryant stopped to make sure the driver was safe.

When the driver told the 40-year-old his phone was damaged in the crash, Bryant offered to take pictures of the smash on his phone, his representative told TMZ.

No one was injured in the crash.

Although police responded to the situation, no arrests were made.

Earlier this year Bryant had his invite to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revoked despite winning an Oscar for his animated short film Dear Basketball.

His Oscar nomination and win sparked controversy in the wake of the #MeToo movement as Bryant was accused of raping a 19-year-old woman in 2003.

The case was dismissed one year later when the accuser would not testify, though they later filed a civil suit, which Bryant settled outside of court.

After being cleared of the charges, Bryant said that ”although I truly believe this encounter between us was consensual, I recognise now that she did not and does not view this incident the same way I did”.
