A 13-year-old boy from Florida has shot his two brothers during a dinner-time fight over food, before killing himself.

Just after 6pm last night, in a mobile home in Hudson, the teenager shot his six-year-old brother dead and wounded his 16-year-old brother, before shooting himself dead.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, the 16-year-old victim, who alerted the police to the situation, is being treated in a local hospital for what are believed to be non-life-threatening wounds.

The three boys were home alone at the time of the incident - their mother was at work, while their 18-year-old brother was also out.

Pasco County sheriff Chris Nocco, said: “This is a horrific scene. This is a nightmare.”

The names of those involved have not yet been released and it is not clear at this stage how the boy got hold of the gun.

The incident comes after three members of a family and a fourth man were discovered dead last August, two miles from the scene of the recent shooting. The ex-boyfriend of one of the victims is currently awaiting trial for these deaths.
