Shots fired by French fishermen
A FRENCH tuna fishing boat fired shots over the heads of Greenpeace environmentalists in a rubber dinghy in the Bay of Biscay, the group claimed.
It said in a statement that the environmentalists were trying to check the nets of the Amazone to see if they were legal, but the vessel's skipper fired at them to keep them away.
In a separate action, fishing fleets on the Channel Islands are facing a blockade by French vessels of all the ports between Cherbourg and Roscoff.
