Man on mini-cab bomb charge
John Gerrard Mathews, 22, will appear before Arbour Square magistrates in east London today, charged with causing an explosion hours after the Bishopsgate bomb, which killed one person, injured 46 and caused about pounds 1bn damage.
It is believed the charge relates to a bomb which exploded in a mini-cab in Holborn, central London, on 24 April. The driver of the car, which was hijacked in north London, was ordered to drive it to DowningStreet. The blast occurred after he abandoned it.
