Man abducted at gunpoint
Police were hunting for a burglar who forced his 75-year-old victim to drive across London at gunpoint. During the journey police stopped the driver for going through a red or amber light - but did not notice that the raider had a gun.
The victim was abducted when a man knocked on his door in Kew, west London, late on Sunday. The man tied up his victim, threatening him with a knife while he searched the house. Then he forced him to drive to Stratford, east London.
