FOUR people were feared drowned yesterday as torrential storms brought flash floods and road chaos to the South-west. A woman who died after falling into the flooded East Lyn river in north Devon was named by police as Beryl East, from Sussex. At Bude, Cornwall, 13 people were taken to hospital with hypothermia as the town was cut off when the River Neet burst its banks.
