Baby snatcher fought off
A YOUNG MOTHER 'fought like a tiger' to stop her baby from being snatched while onlookers ignored her, police said yesterday.
The 19-year-old woman was wheeling her 11-month-old son in a buggy across a recreation ground at Northfleet, Kent, on Tuesday afternoon when a man approached them and started to unfasten the baby's pram straps. The woman screamed and fought him off.
Police said that the park was very busy, with people walking their dogs and others playing golf.
The man is described as white, aged 30, 5ft 6in tall with short brown, crew-cut hair and a moustache. He was wearing a black leather jacket, white T- shirt, blue jeans and trainers.
Police fear that he will strike again.
