Farah collapses after half-marathon

Double Olympic champion Mo Farah collapsed after finishing second in the New York City half-marathon. He was pictured lying on the ground in the finishing area before being taken away in a wheelchair, but he recovered quickly and later said “it was not a big deal”. MORE

Mercedes’ Nico Rosberg won the Australian GP as team-mate Lewis Hamilton retired on lap three. Daniel Ricciardo was second but was disqualified for a fuel-flow rate infringement, with the decision promoting Kevin Magnussen. MORE

Exeter Chiefs defeated Northampton Saints 15-8 at Sandy Park to clinch the LV= Cup – their first major trophy in their 143-year history. Chris Whitehead and Dean Mumm both crossed the line to help Rob Baxter’s side prevail.

Wenger hails Rosicky’s winner

Arsène Wenger was delighted with Tomas Rosicky’s stunning drive which earned Arsenal a crucial 1-0 victory over Tottenham at White Hart Lane. “It will go in my collection of great goals,” said the Arsenal manager. “He surprised everyone.”

Glory for Aberdeen in League Cup final

Aberdeen beat Inverness Caledonian Thistle 4-2 on penalties to win the Scottish League Cup. After the game finished 0-0 following extra-time, Billy McKay’s penalty was saved and Greg Tansey blazed his over, allowing Adam Rooney to claim the win.
