HEAVY THUNDERSTORMS flooded towns in southern and central Greece yesterday, killing one person and causing dozens of traffic accidents, officials said.
An 85-year-old blind woman drowned in her home after it was flooded in the southern city of Sparta, one of the hardest hit areas on the Peloponnese peninsula. Cars were swept away after at least two rivers flooded in the Peloponnese district of Lakonia.
