Christopher Frank, Lord Kearton, of Whitchurch, Buckinghamshire, chairman of Courtaulds 1964-75 and chairman of the British National Oil Corporation 1976-79, left estate valued at pounds 336,170 net.

Professor Peter John Murray, of Farnborough, Warwickshire, former Professor of the History of Art at Birkbeck College, London, left estate valued at pounds 297,199 net.

Mr William Robert Brudenell Foster, of East Lexham, Norfolk, former High Sheriff of Norfolk, left estate valued at pounds 747,749 net.

Sandra Mary, Lady Bernstein, of London SW1, left estate valued at pounds 4,571,532 net. After personal bequests she left pounds 150,000 to establish the 'Sandra Bernstein Charitable Trust'.

Miss Muriel Doreen Pile, of Devizes, Wiltshire, left estate valued at pounds 243,907 net. After personal bequests of pounds 50,000, she left the residue to the National Trust.

Mr Deran Ewart Rushton, of London SE3, left estate valued at pounds 535,602 net. He left pounds 12,000 and half the residue in personal bequests, and half the residue to the Mihran and Aznin Essefian Charitable Trust, with the wish that they publish the memoirs of his father Samuel Zorian.

Lillian Fay, Lady Peck, of Bournemouth, Dorset, left estate valued at pounds 2,016,079 net. After personal bequests of pounds 259,000, she left pounds 40,000 each to the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Physicians; half the residue to the RAF Association Richard Peck House Convalescent Home, Lytham St Annes, Lancashire, and one quarter each to the Cheshire Foundation and Salvation Army.
