Rob Lowe clashes with columnist Owen Jones over his 'increasingly unwatchable films'

The actor reminded Jones that he had won quite a lot of awards during his career, although none have been for correctly using an apostrophe

There’s nothing worse than when an actor known for making questionable movies decides to try his hand at political punditry, but that’s exactly what Rob Lowe got up to yesterday on Twitter, clashing with columnist Owen Jones in the process.

“One clue that the leader of Greece gives no f$$cks about his country defaulting: not wearing a tie as he addresses his government” Lowe said insightfully.

Owen Jones tweeted a response, telling him to "stick to the increasingly unwatchable films".

Lowe, though, wasn’t taking that lying down, and replied by boasting about the awards he'd won during his illustrious career, which was dampened by his poor use of apostrophes.

Jones laughed the comment off, which was probably a good idea in the face of Lowe’s razor sharp wit and penchant for using apostrophes incorrectly.

The West Wing actor is quite fond of dabbling in politics, criticising President Obama's decision to meet with influential Youtubers earlier in the year.

But he is also interested in campaigning for just causes. Last year the actor courageously spoke out against the discrimination facing good-looking people, noting that people often assume he isn't 'deep or interesting' because he is so handsome.

Lowe, who is starring in a live action film called Monster Trucks in 2016, had been professing his love of EDM music on Twitter earlier in the day.
