Two centenarians were recognised yesterday as the world's oldest siblings.

Dorothy Richards, 108 and her sister Marjorie Ruddle, 105, celebrated their achievement with a tea party at the Peterborough nursing home where Ms Ruddle lives. Ms Richards lives at a care home in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

A spokesman for Guinness World Records confirmed they had the "highest combined age of two living siblings" at 213 years, three months, and 27 days.
