In life Sir Jimmy Savile never deserted Leeds. Now the city is planning a send-off for the DJ.
Next Tuesday his body will be taken to a hotel in City Square where wellwishers can pay their respects, at the start of three days of events to mark his passing.
A full Requiem Mass will be held on Wednesday at St Anne's Cathedral, with family, showbusiness and charity friends and members of the public celebrating the life of the celebrity who died on Saturday, aged 84. On Thursday he will be buried on a hilltop overlooking the sea at Scarborough, where he also had a home.
