Little Britain star's ex-partner found dead
The former civil partner of Little Britain star Matt Lucas was found dead in his flat after leaving a tragic message on the social networking site Facebook, it was reported today.
Police found the body of Kevin McGee, 32, at his Edinburgh flat after they broke in at 8am yesterday morning.
The television producer, who married Lucas, 35, in December 2006, had posted a message on Facebook three hours earlier saying: "Kevin McGee thinks that death is much better than life".
A spokesman for Lothian and Borders Police said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
A statement read: "Police were called to an address in Bruntsfield Gardens around 8am yesterday morning where a 32-year-old man was found dead.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent the Procurator Fiscal."
According to reports, police were alerted by a friend and went to Mr McGee's flat where he was found hanged.
The former couple met before Lucas hit new heights of success with the BBC comedy series Little Britain.
They tied the knot in a civil partnership ceremony and celebrated with a panto-themed reception with guests including Elton John, Will Young and Paul O'Grady.
Their relationship broke up in 2008 and their union was officially dissolved in January this year.
Lucas, 35, is currently starring in the West End play Prick Up Your Ears in which he plays Kenneth Halliwell, who murdered his lover the playwright Joe Orton before committing suicide.
