Justin Bieber’s big label boss is so concerned for the welfare of the pop star he’s ploughed all his money into, he’s on the verge of staging an intervention.

Speaking for the first time following the singer’s arrest ( initially for DUI and driving with an expired licensed, now just for resisting arrest ‘without violence’) Universal chief Lucian Grainge broke company protocol to make a public plea to the troubled teen, who is currently living it up on a beach in Panama.

And it’s a message we truly wish he’d listen to: take a break from music.

"I’m very concerned about him. I’ve been concerned about him for many months," Grainge said at the official Universal Music Group Grammys aftershow party, held at the Ace Hotel in Los Angeles on Sunday night.

 "And Scooter Braun [Justin’s manager], who I work with very closely and is supposed to be here, but is with him at the moment.

 

"The management, us... This has nothing to do with the business or records or releases, this is to do with the young man.

"He needs help. He needs an intervention. We are going to give all the support as a company to take as much pressure off him so he can look forward. Hopefully, we will all get through to him.

"But what people don’t understand, he’s a 19-year-old.

"You cannot just pick someone up and force them to do something if they are not ready.

"All of us around him need to take all the responsibility, all the pressure off him and give him support so he can address the issues he has – and he does have issues. And I’d like it to be dealt with."

Grainge’s concerns were raised shortly before the world learned that two of the charges levied against Bieber had been dropped.

Now, Bieber will face just one charge: resisting arrest without violence.

Bieber Odds-On Favourite To Serve Jail Time

The documents, published on the Miami-Dade County Court Clerks website, detail that the singer was released from jail on a bail bond of $2,500 and faces just one charge.

The site, which uploads court records of criminal and civil charges which occur in the state, also lists Bieber’s next hearing on Monday 3 February at 8.30am, Miami time.

Bieber’s lawyers revealed that they were investigating claims that the police had "exaggerated" the DUI and speeding allegations.
