Britain's Talent goes to Hollywood: Susan Boyle's life story to be made into film

The "I Dreamed A Dream" singer wants George Clooney to be in it - and to be played by Julie Walters

Scottish singer Susan Boyle, who became a megastar overnight after her rendition of “I Dreamed A Dream” on Britain’s Got Talent melted hearts, is to have her life story made into a film.

The Sun reports that the singer, 51, has just returned from America where she signed a “megabucks” deal with an undisclosed film studio.

Boyle wants George Clooney to play her manager. “It’s wishful thinking. But it’s Hollywood…anything can happen,” she said.

The West Lothian singing sensation is busy promoting her new album Standing Ovation.

In Glasgow yesterday she drew crowds outside Buchanan Street’s HMV where she signed autographs and talked to fans.

The singer, who came second place on the ITV talent contest Britain’s Got Talent in 2009, has sold more than 18 million albums, with her first record I Dreamed A Dream remaining the UK best-selling debut of all time.

Speaking to the Mirror in October Boyle said she’d like actress Julie Walters to play her in a film of her life.

“My story will make a great film,” she said. “We are in the middle of negotiations just now for a film about my life. There’s only one person I’d love to play me – and that’s Julie Walters. She would do the job and you just know she would do my story justice.

“The success I’ve had is surreal and unbelievable. I never expected to be able to do a tenth of what I’ve done. But now I’ve done it I just want to do everything and take every opportunity that comes my way.”
