Jamie Oliver’s £7 million London home broken into by thieves

Burglars allegedly entered through the garage

Jamie Oliver’s £7 million property has been targeted by thieves.

The break-in was reported by a member of the public, who spotted a door to the property was open. The chef, his wife Jools and their four children are understood to have been staying at their second home in Essex at the time.

An unnamed neighbour told The Telegraph burglars broke into Oliver’s home, which is fitted with CCTV, through the garage.

“The police regularly advise us to review our security arrangements at this time of year as burglars are known to scout the area looking for empty homes," the neighbour added.

A spokesperson for Oliver said the incident was “very minor”. He told The Independent: “Just a basement that Jamie owns in the next building to the house was broken into. Nothing was 'ransacked'. A couple of electrical items were stolen and no-one was in at the time.”

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to an address on Friday 2 October shortly after 9pm after a member of the public reported that a door to the property was open.

“Officers attended and went inside the property and found that the premises had been burgled. Items were removed from the address."
