BUCKINGHAM PALACE

27 July: The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, accompanied by The Prince and Princess of Wales, this evening attended a Dinner given by Her Majesty's present and past Prime Ministers to mark the Fortieth Anniversary of The Queen's Accession at Spencer House, London SW1.

Her Majesty and His Royal Highness were received by The Right Hon John Major MP (Prime Minister and First Lord of the Treasury), the Lord Callaghan of Cardiff KG and the Lord Rothschild.

The Duchess of Grafton and The Right Hon Sir Robert Fellowes were in attendance.

27 July: The Prince Edward, Trustee of The Duke of Edinburgh's Award, this afternoon visited and launched the Lower Lea Project and visited the Award Scheme Summer Camp Work Sites, London E1.

Mrs Richard Warburton was in attendance.

The Prince Edward, Patron, this evening attended a Concert given by the National Youth Orchestra of Scotland at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow.

His Royal Highness was received by Councillor Robert Gray (Vice Lord-Lieutenant of the City of Glasgow).

Lieutenant-Commander Malcolm Sillars was in attendance.

CLARENCE HOUSE

27 July: Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother this afternoon opened the new Offices of Breckland District Council in East Dereham, Norfolk.

The Dowager Viscountess Hambleden and Major Sir Ralph Anstruther Bt were in attendance.

THATCHED HOUSE LODGE

27 July: Princess Alexandra this afternoon opened the Haleacre Unit at Amersham General Hospital and was received by Her Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant for Buckinghamshire (Commander the Hon John Fremantle, Royal Navy).

The Lady Mary Mumford was in attendance.

ROYAL ENGAGEMENTS

The Queen holds an Investiture at Buckingham Palace. The Duke of Edinburgh, International President of WWF - World Wide Fund for Nature, attends a lunch at Ogilvy and Mather, London E14. The Prince of Wales, President, the Mary Rose Trust, visits the Mary Rose and views the restoration by Portsmouth Naval Base Property Trust at Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, Portsmouth. The Princess of Wales, Patron, British Deaf Association, opens the BDA 1992 Triennial Congress at the Winter Gardens, Blackpool, Lancashire; as Patron, 'Relate', visits the 'Relate' Centre, Blackpool; and opens the Day Care Centre at Trinity Hospice, Blackpool. Princess Alexandra attends a Service of Dedication at Wesley's Chapel, London EC1, to mark the re-opening of the refurbished Leysian Centre, London EC1.

Changing of the Guard

The Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment mounts The Queen's Life Guard at Horse Guards, 11am; 1st Battalion Irish Guards mounts The Queen's Guard, at Buckingham Palace, 11.30am, band provided by the Welsh Guards.

Bands playing in the Royal Parks

St James's Park, Merton Concert Band, 12.30pm-2pm, 5.30pm-7pm.
