Beyoncé has stressed the importance of women taking the time to focus on their mental health and wellbeing without feeling selfish.

As one of the biggest entertainers in the world, Beyonce is constantly busy recording albums, touring or promoting other business ventures. However, she still recognises the importance of taking time out for herself, something she urges other women to do.

“Women have to take the time to focus on our mental health - take time for self, for the spiritual, without feeling guilty or selfish,” she told ELLE magazine. “The world will see you the way you see you, and treat you the way you treat yourself.”

The “Formation” singer also rejected the mounting pressures on women to be perfect, saying we should “change the conversation” and instead look after the body and mind for a “purpose” rather than just to strive for perfection.

Beyoncé, 34, who recently added a new clothing range, Ivy Park, to her extensive list of ventures also spoke about being a businesswoman, explaining how making those all-important decisions and being accountable can be both “a burden and a blessing”.
