The Lily Davis Special Playgroup was established in 1973 to help pre-school children with physical, mental and emotional difficulties, living in the London Borough of Lambeth. The playgroup is run by four regular workers, volunteers and various professionals - speech therapists, physiotherapists, educational psychologists and doctors - who visit regularly. The aim is to give care and encouragement to help children reach their potential and enter the education system at a time suited to them, as well as supporting their parents. The playgroup needs to raise pounds 20,000 to replace its van which brings the children to and from the group.

Daphne Wiliams, Chair, The Lily Davis Special Playgroup, Chancellor Grove Methodist Church, Park Hall Road, London SE21 8EG, telephone 081-766 6173.
