The term "DNF1100" continues to be the search term with the most significant growth worldwide on October 12, despite an increasing number of searches for National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

People in China are typing "dnf1100" into the search box on Google in the hope of finding free video game plug-ins and downloads for the MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) Dungeon Fighter.

On Friday October 9, NASA sent two bus-sized spacecrafts crashing into the moon, causing a large explosion that penetrated the surface of the Cabeus crater near the moon's north pole.

NASA's LCROSS satellite and its booster rocket were sent on a direct collision course with the moon in the hope that the resulting explosion would propel a fine veil of lunar material into the air. Within this dust NASA scientists hope to discover "hidden pockets of water ice".

Searches for NASA have increased significantly during the week with people all over the world eager to find out what would happen when NASA "bombed the moon".

People watching the event were mostly disappointed as the six-mile plume of lunar dust was not the grand explosion some had hoped for and photos of the crash showed hardly more than a tiny blur of white dust.

The search terms with the most significant growth worldwide within the last seven days as measured by Google Insights, recorded on October 12 at 8:30 AM GMT are:

1. dnf1100 (+950%)
