Mireia Llusia-Lindh, the Barcelona born, London-based entrepreneur, was so fed up with not being able to find a handbag that fits a laptop as well as all those other things women store in their bags, that she designed her own.

With an MBA from Harvard and £50,000 backing from private investors, she launched Milli Millu online last October and now has a shop in Mayfair's Dover Street.

Later this summer she will be opening in selected stores in Switzerland, Sweden and Norway, selling alongside brands such as Burberry and Chloé.

There are plans to sell into the US and Germany and other EU markets. Her bags are aimed at investment bankers, lawyers, businesswomen and university professors who don't want two bags or to carry bags with papers sticking out all over the place.

The shoulder bags will set you back between £295 and £445. Named after cities around the world, the range includes the Londoner (£395), the Stockholm (£375) and the Barcelona (£445).
